DATA PROTECTION PROVISIONS AND DECLARATIONS OF CONSENT

The Goethe-Institut e.V., Oskar-von-Miller-Ring, 18, 80333 Munich, Germany (“Goethe-Institut” or “We”), as the operator of the website www.designediniraq.org (“Website”), is the data controller for the personal data of the users (“You”) of the Website within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German data protection laws, in particular the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

The Goethe-Institut takes the protection of your data very seriously. With this privacy policy, we would like to inform you transparently about what personal data (“your data”) we collect, process and use about you when you visit our online presence and / or use the Goethe-Institut’s website.

You can visit our website and use some of our internet offers without providing any personal information. By sending the content you agree that it will be published on our website. We reserve the right to contact you if we have any queries about the published content.

The data transmitted by sending by e-mail, including personal data, will be stored by us. These personal data are:

We collect and process the personal data provided by you as part of the contract processing for the use of the free service in accordance with Art. 6 (1) p. 1 lit. b GDPR and on the basis of our legitimate interests for the purpose of a possible defense against claims in accordance with Art. 6 (1) p. 1 lit. f GDPR.

Deletion and restriction of processing

We may store the logged out personal data for up to three years on the basis of our legitimate interests before we delete it. The processing of this data will be limited to the purpose of a possible defense against claims, in particular in connection with alleged copyright infringement.

4. YOUR RIGHTS AND HOW TO CONTACT US

As a data subject, you have the following rights:

• pursuant to Art. 15 GDPR, the right to request information about your personal data processed by us to the extent specified therein;

• pursuant to Art. 16 GDPR, the right to request without undue delay the correction of inaccurate or completion of your personal data stored by us;

• in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR, the right to request the erasure of your personal data stored by us, unless further processing is necessary

     o for the exercise of the right to freedom of expression and information;

     o for the fulfillment of a legal obligation;

     o for reasons of public interest; or

     o for the assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims

is necessary;

• in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR, the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data, insofar as

     o the accuracy of the data is disputed by you;

     o the processing is unlawful, but you object to its erasure;

     o we no longer require the data, but you need it to assert, exercise or defend legal claims; or

     o you have objected to the processing in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR;

• pursuant to Art. 20 GDPR, the right to receive your personal data that you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format or to request that it be transferred to another controller;

• the right to complain to a supervisory authority pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR. As a rule, you can contact the supervisory authority of your usual place of residence or workplace or our company headquarters for this purpose.

5. RIGHT OF OBJECTION

Insofar as we process personal data as explained above in order to protect our legitimate interests, which prevail in the context of a balancing of interests, you may object to this processing with effect for the future. If the processing is carried out for direct marketing purposes, you may exercise this right at any time as described above. If the processing is carried out for other purposes, you will only have the right to object if there are grounds arising from your particular situation.

After you have exercised your right to object, we will no longer process your personal data for these purposes unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or if the processing is for the purpose of asserting, exercising or defending legal claims

This does not apply if the processing is for direct marketing purposes. Then we will not further process your personal data for this purpose.

The project “Cultural and Creative Industries” is implemented by the GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut. It improves employment and income opportunities for creative professionals in six partner countries; Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Kenya, Senegal, and South Africa and operates mainly in the music, fashion, design and animation sectors. In addition to promoting the development of entrepreneurial, digital, creative and technical skills through training programmes, the project aims to strengthen the framework conditions and the ecosystem of the cultural and creative industries.
