The Balk Mosque in Koya is one of the ancient mosques of Erbil in Iraq. It is located in the locality of Pfrivandi in the district of Koya in the Erbil governorate. It is one of the ancient heritage mosques. It was built during the era of the Ottoman Empire in 1224 AH / 1809 AD. It was built by Sheikh Al-Faqih Gerges at his own expense in 1284 AH / 1867 AD, then it was renovated again in 1407 AH / 1987 AD, and a large hall was built in it at the expense of Al-Muhsin Al-Hajj (Hedayat Rashid Najm).
The mosque building still preserves its heritage and ancient monuments in terms of construction and decoration. The sanctuary has arches and is topped with an old dome inscribed with Moroccan inscriptions inside and outside it surrounded by an eight-sided building, and opposite the sanctuary is a large courtyard and courtyard containing a room for the Imam, ablution shops, a hall, and a water basin.
