Syed Sultan Ali Mosque is one of the ancient mosques of Baghdad next to Al-Rusafa on Al-Rasheed Street in Al-Murabba area near Al-Ahrar Bridge. It was built in 1590 AD. And its location: Iraq / Baghdad, Al-Rusafa. Its area is 21,000 square meters. It is built of brown bricks, in the architectural style: the Ottoman Islamic.
The mosque contained a religious school in which famous scholars studied. The mosque and the school were restored in 1290 AH / 1873 AD, when the mosque building was expanded. The entrance to the mosque is a building with a minaret of a high minaret built of bricks in the Ottoman Islamic style and decorated with small decorated blue tiles in some parts and with one basin. The mosque also contains a hospice called (Tekke Qara Ali) and the old school was used to teach religious sciences.
